Elecworks™ 2014
The elecworks™ 2014 version is available for download for all our users with an active subscription contract. Plenty of new features like mixed schemes, voltage drop calculations on cables, publish as eDrawings are yours to use and enjoy.
Many new commands are here to make your design work easier: design rules check, User data access options, automatic insertion of links, optimizing wiring order sequence depending on the placement of material in the cabinet, etc.
Other major changes include the « electrical content portal » (See further on) with specific way to access manufacturer parts databases. From this version onwards, the software will include the elecworks Viewer (See further on) to watch the projects taking shape.

Electrical Content Portal for flexible management of manufacturer catalogues
From elecworks™ 2014 onwards, the manufacturer catalogs and cable catalogs are not installed by default. You are now free to choose which catalogs are to be added/updated, giving you these two advantages: faster installation of the software and rapid search of parts during use.
Two new icons help you choose to have manufacturer catalogs as «Local content» (to let you continue to install/ update the catalogs already like you do today in your elecworks archives) or «Online content» (to directly access « electrical content portal » with a list of available catalogs and to download only the selected catalogs). You can use the search filter to quickly find a manufacturer.
SolidWorks Electrical users also have access to their version of this portal.

Release of elecworks™ Viewer
From version elecworks™ 2014 onwards, the software includes the elecworks Viewer to look at the designed projects. The users have access to elecworks project navigation in a small window to look at different schematic drawings and then they can zoom in on a selected drawing. Although data cannot be modified with this viewer, the messenger commands help to keep up to date with the progress of the project design. Elecworks Viewer users can also export the schematics in DWG/PDF formats and the reports in XLS/TXT formats. The search filter helps to precisely look for a particular element of the project (for example: a Mark, a Location, a Reference, a component type, etc.)
Elecworks™ Viewer can be installed as an additional client, or another stand-alone machine where elecworks has been installed, but the license is no longer available because the license was transferred earlier.

Trace Software website in Chinese
As you know this year we have been working in a new design of Trace Software website.
English, French & Spanish sites were launched last March. Now, it has been the turn of Chinese site, since this summer our visitors have at their disposal a new language, accessible through language menu on the top of the website www.trace-software.com, or directly through www.tracesoftware.cn
Chinese visitors will have information about news, events and courses will take place in China, apart from other information about our softwares, company and technical support.

 Trace Software International has just hired Manuel Marín as Quality Assurance Manager.« My main objective is to get our software to fulfill the requirements of our clients. To that end we have several procedures which allow us to collect the customers’ opinion, using it as the cornerstone of our software development system. In this way we manage to adapt quickly our software to the needs of the market ».
